Controls should be mounted for everyone to reach and see, especially if a user is seated or standing, or short in stature. The height should be between 36-48″ from the floor. This applies to the following (and more):
- Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
- Utilities (gas and water mains, circuit breakers)
- Appliances (microwaves, ovens, laundry, etc)
- Elevators
