Dishwashers raised off the floor minimize the need to bend way down to reach the lower rack. A dishwasher installed higher than floor-level (versus on the floor) provides the ability to move dishes in and out with ease. This needs to be planned early in the kitchen design, as standard dishwashers will rise above the typical 36” counter height when elevated. That said, dishwasher drawers are a great option. Similar to the refrigerator drawers, they’re simply not as deep and low to the ground as standard dishwashers.
