People use toilets differently. 32″ of floor space next to one side of the toilet and 32″ in front of the the toilet will allow positioning of most mobility equipment beside the toilet to enable safe transfers, if needed. The opposite side should be close to a wall so users can have support, as necessary. Make sure the wall-side distance is between 16-18″ from a side wall to the midline of the bowl.
